The hair - Unico
Created out of natural, botanically derived products, Unico is a locally made and owned haircare line that is the result of a collaboration between a hairdresser and a chemist. The line came about after Unico salon owner Sofia Basile grew frustrated with the effectiveness of natural haircare products. The range consists of shampoos and conditioners for several hair types, a leave in spray and a treatment, and, if you buy your product from Unico salons, you'll get discounts if you refill old bottles.

The skin - Subtle Energies
Created by Ayurvedic and clinical Aromatherapy expert Farida Irani, the Subtle Energies brand has been around for well over 15 years, with their skincare line becoming a significant success. Used in spas locally and internationally, Subtle Energies skincare uses a base that's free of petrochemicals, parabens, synthetic fragrances and colours to play host to a range of specially formulated essential oils, some of which have been sourced directly from India. The Subtle Energeies Ayurveda Aromatherapy skin care range has been created with the restoration of balance, and enhancement of radiance in mind.

The makeup - Inika
It just took out a major prize at the Prix de Marie Claire Beauty awards, and its founders, Miranda Bond and Jenni Williams, have also received several accolades. Inika is quickly becoming recognised as one of the strongest natural cosmetics brands both here and overseas, thanks to its commitment to using the best ingredients (always natural, organic where possible), and creating products that feel light, wearable and pigmented enough to really play with. The brand doesn't play it safe with colourways either, regularly releasing ranges that have been strongly influenced by catwalk trends. Inika products have proved particularly impressive for those recovering from cosmetic surgery, and for severe allergy suffers, as their range is inert even on sensitive skin.

The tools - Hair2Day
If you're a fiend for straightening, or a catastrophe without your curler, Hair2Day are your new best friend. They make effective hair styling tools but their company is a Carbon Neutral member, their products are recyclable and they  have an automatic off switch installed in every creation to save energy and up their products safety. On the tech side of things, the brand are the first range of straighteners to integrate tourmaline into their ceramic plates - the semi precious stone is mean to fight frizz far more effectively than the standard offerings.

The detox - Miessence

The brand is conscious of the effect chemicals can have on a face, but never makes its protection mission feel too prissy. With product offerings across the full range of mens grooming, from cleansers and moisturisers to shavers and body wash, Mr Essentials lives up to its name.
