Pop beauty queen Katy Perry strolled down the 2011 Grammy Awards red carpet in style. To accentuate Katy’s Armani Prive dress with jewel encrusted bar and light-up angel wings, Celebrity Makeup Artist Jake Bailey channeled the “Disco Angel”… angelic, sparkly, and ethereal. Balley played off the textures in the dress and wings when creating Katy’s dazzling makeup look. Eyes:

For Katy’s multi-colored eye, Balley first applied the lavender shade of Cover Girl Smoky ShadowBlast in ‘Silver Sky’ all along the top lid from lashline to crease and blended with the fingertips. Cream shadows are great adhesive for glitter, which was perfect for applying Make Up For Ever Glitter on the lid by tapping it with my finger. He then applied Cover Girl LiquiLineBlast in ‘Green Glow’ along the lower water line and lower lashes and blended it with a small brush to smoke it out. He then finished the eyes with 2 coats on top and bottom of Cover Girl LashBlast Fusion in ‘Black’.

Skin:

He first prepped her skin with NARS Gentle Cream Cleanser and NARS Aqua Gel Hydrator. Balley loves the NARS Aqua Gel Hydrator because “it doesn’t make her skin greasy but keeps it moisturized.” Balley polished her skin with a shimmery pink blush, then dusted glitter on her cheekbones to add to the sparkle.

Lips:
On her lips, Balley created a rich pink look with Cover Girl LipPerfection lipcolor in ‘Temptress’ for the red carpet and then changed it to a brighter berry pink/red for her performance using Cover Girl LipPerfection lipcolor in ‘Tempt’.
