Flip through any fashion or beauty magazine, look at any it-girl’s skin, they all have one thing in common, dewy almost perfectly moisturized skin. Yeah, even though they have loads of money and the best in the beauty industry working full-time on their perfected skin, most of the time it’s probably Photoshop that got their faces looking that flawless. However, in spite of the computerized help, I’m going give you some advice on how to achieve dewy super moist skin without splurging or using Photoshop. Here’s the trick.

Exfoliate: I bet this is one of the most important skin care steps that most people take for granted. In order to achieve smooth skin you’re going to have to get rid of the rough dull looking skin on the top. Use a cheap one such as St. Ives Apricot Scrub to wash away the ugly skin and bring out the pretty.

Important: Don’t over exfoliate! I personally suffer from overly sensitive skin and exfoliation can make the matter worse. Instead opt for once a week to start out, never more than three times.

Layer on the Moisture: If you want dewy skin you going to have to moisturize! If you have super dry skin, you’re going to have to moisturize even more. First, apply your regular daily facial moisturizer to a clean slightly moist face. Then wait and apply a moisturizing facial mist to lock in moisture and create a dewy finish. Apply any foundation or make-up after and spray another spritz of your facial mist if you want. You wouldn’t believe how much of a difference it makes when you layer on the moisture with a facial mist. If you’re feeling sort of creative, try making your own facial mist by visiting this step-by-step guide I found on the web.

Moisture is key for dewy skin. Drink lots of fluids to moisturize from the inside out while providing your skin with moisture from the outside. Layering on moisture also makes a huge difference in the texture of your skin. Personally, I like to moisturize, apply makeup and then moisturize again for the dewiest results.
